How do I create and use Products?

Updated October 7, 2026

Products let you create a catalog of products, services, packages, properties, trips, or other offerings that your AI agent can show to customers as Product Cards.

Each Product can include information such as:

  • Photos
  • Product or service name
  • Description
  • Price
  • Options
  • Option-specific prices
  • SKU
  • Category
  • Link
  • Button label

When the relevant intent is triggered in the conversation, AI Answer with Product Cards enabled can use this catalog to show matching products to the customer.

What can you use Products for?

Products are not limited to physical goods.

You can use them for:

  • Retail products
  • Services
  • Hotel rooms
  • Travel packages
  • Properties
  • Vehicles
  • Memberships
  • Experiences
  • Classes
  • Packages
  • Other structured offerings

If something has a name, description, price, options, images, or a next-step link, it can often be represented as a Product.

How to access Products

Open the main AskHandle menu and select Products.

The Products page shows your current catalog.

From here, you can:

  • Create a new Product
  • Import a list of Products
  • Select and edit an existing Product
  • Add or update Product images
  • Change pricing and options
  • Add links and buttons

Create a new Product

Click + New product.

The Product editor lets you create the Product manually.

You can add:

  • Photos
  • Product name
  • Description
  • Price
  • Options
  • Link
  • Button label

Additional fields such as SKU and Category are also available.

Add Product photos

Each Product can include multiple photos.

You can upload supported image formats such as:

  • JPG
  • PNG
  • WEBP
  • GIF

You can add up to 6 photos to a Product.

The first or selected photo acts as the cover image.

Additional photos stay with the Product and can be used as extra views.

Good Product photos help customers understand what they are looking at before they click or ask a follow-up question.

Choose a cover photo

The cover photo is the main image shown for the Product.

Use the clearest and most representative image as the cover.

For example:

  • Main product view
  • Hotel room hero image
  • Property exterior
  • Vehicle front view
  • Destination image
  • Service package image

Additional photos can show other angles or details.

Add a Product name

The Product name is required.

Use a clear name that customers would naturally recognize.

Examples:

  • NYC Weekend Escape
  • Standard King Room
  • Premium Cleaning Package
  • Model A25
  • Downtown Studio Apartment

The AI uses the Product name in replies, and it appears on the Product Card.

Add a description

Use Description to explain what the Product is and what is included.

The description is used by the AI when answering questions and also appears on the Product Card.

Include the details a customer would need to understand or compare the offering.

For example:

  • What is included
  • Important features
  • Capacity
  • Location
  • Duration
  • Service scope
  • Who the Product is for
  • Key differentiators

Keep the description factual and easy to scan.

Add a price

Use the Price field to enter the price exactly as you want it to appear.

Examples:

  • $28
  • $50 per seat
  • From $499 per person
  • Starting at $500
  • Price on request

The price appears on the Product Card and can also be used by the AI in replies.

Add Product options

Use Options when customers can choose between variations.

Common options include:

  • Color
  • Size
  • Storage
  • Material
  • Room type
  • Trip length
  • Number of travelers
  • Package level
  • Service tier

You can also create your own option names.

For example, a travel package might include:

Room

  • Standard Queen
  • King

Trip length

  • 3 days

Travelers

  • Solo
  • 2 Travelers

Options make it possible to represent several configurations within one Product.

Add values to an option

After creating an option, add the available values.

For example:

Color

  • Black
  • White

Size

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large

Room

  • Standard Queen
  • King

These values can be used when the AI helps a customer compare or choose between variations.

Set different prices for options

Some Product combinations may have different prices.

Use Price for each option when the default Product price should not apply to every combination.

For example:

  • Standard Queen / 3 days / Solo → $499 per person
  • Standard Queen / 3 days / 2 Travelers → $449 per person
  • King / 3 days / Solo → $549 per person

If a combination does not need a separate price, leaving it blank keeps the main Product price.

This is useful when pricing depends on the exact configuration the customer chooses.

Add an SKU

The SKU field is optional.

Use it for your own internal Product code or reference.

For example:

NYC-WE-003

The SKU is not shown on the Product Card.

It can help your team identify Products internally.

Add a Category

The Category field is optional.

Use it to help the AI understand what type of Product it is.

Examples:

  • Apparel
  • Phones
  • Travel Packages
  • Hotel Rooms
  • Properties
  • Vehicles
  • Cleaning Services

The Category is not shown on the Product Card.

Use clear category names that make Products easier to organize and identify.

The Link field is optional.

Use it when the customer should be able to continue to another page.

Examples include:

  • Product page
  • Checkout page
  • Booking page
  • Property page
  • Trip page
  • Service page

For example:

https://example.com/trips/new-york-weekend

If no link is needed, you can leave the field blank.

Add a button label

If a Product has a link, you can also add a button label.

Examples include:

  • Buy now
  • Learn more
  • Book now
  • Shop now
  • View trip
  • View property
  • Check availability

The button appears on the Product Card only when a link is added.

If you do not customize the button text, the default can be Buy now.

Create the Product

Once the Product information is ready, click Create product.

The Product will appear in your catalog.

You can then select it later to edit the details.

Edit an existing Product

Select a Product from the catalog to open its details.

You can update:

  • Photos
  • Cover image
  • Name
  • Description
  • Price
  • Options
  • Option-specific pricing
  • SKU
  • Category
  • Link
  • Button

Click Save product when the changes are complete.

Delete a Product

You can delete a Product from the Product editor.

Before deleting it, make sure it is no longer needed by any AI Answer workflow using Product Cards.

Removing a Product means it should no longer be available for the AI to present from the catalog.

Import multiple Products

If you have many Products, you can import them from a spreadsheet instead of creating each one manually.

Click Import.

AskHandle supports Product imports from:

  • CSV
  • Excel

The import supports up to 100 Products at a time.

Download the Product import template

Click Download template to get the expected spreadsheet structure.

The import supports columns such as:

  • name
  • description
  • price
  • sku
  • category
  • buy_url
  • cta
  • options
  • variant_prices

Using the template makes it easier to prepare the data correctly before importing.

Import Product options

The import can include Product options.

For example:

Color: Black|White; Size: S|M

This defines two option groups:

Color

  • Black
  • White

Size

  • S
  • M

Keep the option structure consistent across Products in the file.

Import option-specific prices

You can also include different prices for Product combinations.

For example:

Black|S=$28; White|M=$32

This lets imported Products keep the same type of variant pricing available in the manual editor.

Price can be written as customer-facing text

The Product price does not have to be a plain number.

You can write it the way it should appear to the customer.

Examples:

  • $28
  • $50 per seat
  • From $499 per person
  • Starting at $500

This makes Product Cards more flexible for services, travel, property, and other industries where pricing is not always a single fixed amount.

Preview before importing

After choosing a CSV or Excel file, review the Product preview before completing the import.

Check that:

  • Product names are correct
  • Descriptions are in the right field
  • Prices display correctly
  • Options are parsed correctly
  • Variant prices match the right combinations
  • Links and buttons are correct

Fix the source spreadsheet first if the preview does not look right.

Add photos after importing

Imported Products do not need to include cover photos in the spreadsheet.

You can import the Products first and add images afterward.

This is useful when the structured Product information already exists in CSV or Excel but the photos are managed separately.

Products and Product Cards

The Products catalog provides the structured content used by AI Answer with Product Cards enabled.

A typical setup is:

  1. Create or import Products
  2. Add descriptions, prices, images, and options
  3. Add links and buttons where needed
  4. Enable Product Cards in AI Answer
  5. Define when the AI should show Products
  6. Test realistic Product requests

When a relevant Product intent is triggered, AI Answer can show matching Product Cards inside the conversation.

Example: travel package

A travel business creates:

NYC Weekend Escape

with:

  • Cover image
  • Additional city photo
  • Description
  • From $499 per person
  • Room option
  • Trip length option
  • Traveler option
  • Variant pricing
  • View trip link

A customer asks:

“Do you have a New York package for two people?”

AI Answer can use the Product catalog to show the relevant Product Card and help the customer continue.

Example: hotel room

A hotel could create Products for:

  • Standard King Room
  • Double Queen Room
  • Junior Suite
  • Executive Suite

Each Product could include:

  • Room photos
  • Description
  • Starting price
  • Bed type
  • Capacity
  • Room features
  • Booking link

AI Answer can show the right room cards when a guest asks about available room types or preferences.

Example: service packages

A service business could create:

  • Basic Package
  • Standard Package
  • Premium Package

Each Product might include:

  • Service description
  • Price
  • Package features
  • Service options
  • Learn more or Book now link

Products can represent services just as easily as physical goods.

Example: property listings

A real estate or property business could create a Product for each property.

Each Product might include:

  • Property photos
  • Name or address
  • Description
  • Price
  • Bedrooms
  • Property type
  • Location
  • Property link

This lets AI Answer present properties as visual cards instead of long text-only replies.

Use descriptive Product information

The AI uses the Product content when deciding how to respond.

Make sure:

  • Product names are specific
  • Descriptions explain the offering clearly
  • Prices are current
  • Options use meaningful names
  • Categories are accurate
  • Links lead to the correct destination
  • Photos match the Product

Poor Product information can lead to poor recommendations.

Do not duplicate the same Product unnecessarily

Avoid creating several Products that represent the same offering unless there is a clear reason.

For example, if one Product can represent multiple sizes or room types with Options, use Options rather than creating many nearly identical Products.

This makes the catalog easier to manage.

Keep Product information up to date

Update Products when:

  • Prices change
  • Options change
  • A Product is discontinued
  • A package changes
  • New images are available
  • Links change
  • Service details change

If the catalog is outdated, the AI can show outdated information.

Test Product Cards before publishing

After creating or importing Products and enabling Product Cards, test realistic customer requests.

Try:

  • A customer asking for one specific Product
  • A customer asking for a category
  • A customer describing preferences
  • A customer asking about price
  • A customer asking about options
  • A customer asking for an unavailable variation
  • A customer asking for more information
  • A customer clicking the Product link

Confirm that the correct Product Card appears.

Test how the AI chooses between Products

If several Products are similar, test whether the AI can distinguish them based on:

  • Description
  • Category
  • Options
  • Price
  • Customer preferences

Clear Product data makes matching more reliable.

Tips for using Products
