What is a WhatsApp Business Number?
A WhatsApp Business Number is a dedicated phone number registered through Meta's WhatsApp Business API. It lets businesses send and receive WhatsApp messages at scale through software — including AI agents — rather than the standard WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.
How long does activation take?
For pool numbers, activation typically takes 5–15 minutes. You'll go through Meta's embedded signup wizard and receive an OTP that AskHandle helps you enter. Once Meta verifies the number, you can immediately assign it to your AI agent.
Can I use a number I already own?
Yes. You can import any number that isn't already registered on WhatsApp using the Facebook/Meta import path. If you're on Infobip, you can connect your existing account directly with your credentials.
What happens if I cancel a pool number?
When you cancel a pool number, it enters a 30-day cooling period before returning to the pool. Billing stops immediately upon cancellation. You can always purchase a new number from the pool at any time.
Is there a limit to how many numbers I can have?
Pool numbers are capped at 3 per organization by default, though some plans include more. Numbers imported via Facebook or connected through Infobip don't count toward this limit.
