AskHandle AI Agent Builder

AI Answer

Give the agent the intelligence to answer, act, and complete tasks

AI Answer is the most flexible node in the AskHandle AI Agent Builder.

It can respond using general public knowledge, browse the live web, follow your own instructions, work from a private knowledge base, and use optional skills to take actions inside the conversation.

For many straightforward agents, the flow can be as simple as:

Start → AI Answer

The node can handle the conversation directly without requiring a larger workflow unless the use case needs additional routing, structured retrieval, forms, handoff, or other specialized behavior.

What AI Answer does

AI Answer is the general-purpose conversational intelligence inside an AskHandle agent.

It can:

  • answer questions
  • explain information
  • follow custom instructions
  • adopt a role, tone, or communication style
  • use customer-provided knowledge
  • browse the live web
  • restrict web research to approved websites
  • schedule appointments
  • send configured emails
  • perform preconfigured calculations
  • show product or service cards
  • show individual images
  • show photo albums

The node can be used with very little configuration or can be turned into a highly controlled assistant with its own knowledge, instructions, and skills.

Start simple or configure it in depth

AI Answer does not require a custom prompt before it can work.

With the default configuration, the node can answer using general public information and Live web browsing is enabled by default. When current information is needed, the AI can browse the internet and use that information in its response.

This makes AI Answer useful immediately.

For example:

What is the weather in Miami this weekend?
What time zone is Tokyo in?
What are the main airports serving London?
What happened in the market today?

When the question requires current information, the node can use live web browsing rather than relying only on general model knowledge.

For many businesses, though, the real value comes from configuring the node for a specific job.

Skills extend what AI Answer can do

AI Answer is not limited to writing replies.

Customers can enable skills that let the node perform specific actions or present richer information inside the conversation.

Skills are optional. Enable only the ones the agent actually needs.

The available skills can turn a simple answering node into a much more complete conversational workflow.

AI Answer

Book appointments

The Book appointments skill lets AI Answer check real calendar availability and book appointments directly inside the conversation.

Before enabling the skill, the customer configures scheduling in AskHandle, including details such as:

  • availability
  • meeting duration
  • available time slots
  • time zones
  • calendar settings
  • contact information to collect

Once configured, the AI can handle the booking conversation naturally.

For example:

Visitor: Can I book a consultation next week?
AI Agent: I have Tuesday at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at 10:30 AM, or Thursday at 4:00 PM. Which works best?
Visitor: Wednesday morning.
AI Agent: Wednesday at 10:30 AM is available. I'll book that for you.

The visitor does not need to leave the chat to browse a scheduling page.

The AI checks real availability and books the appointment when the visitor is ready.

One node can combine several capabilities

The real strength of AI Answer comes from combining instructions, knowledge, live information, and skills.

For example, a service business might configure one AI Answer node to:

  1. explain the company's services
  2. answer from the company's own knowledge
  3. browse approved public websites when current information is needed
  4. show service cards
  5. calculate an estimate
  6. book an appointment
  7. email the visitor a confirmation or information package

All of that can happen inside the same conversation.

The customer decides which capabilities are available.

01

Example: a simple appointment-focused agent

A small professional services company may not need a complicated flow.

Its entire agent could be:

Start

↓

AI Answer

The AI Answer node could be configured to:

  • explain available services
  • answer common questions
  • follow the company's tone
  • use the company's service information
  • show service cards
  • calculate an estimate when needed
  • check calendar availability
  • book consultations

For many businesses, this is enough to create a useful self-service AI agent without building a large node structure.

02

Example: a travel assistant

AI Answer could be instructed to help customers explore travel options.

The customer might configure it with:

  • the agency's service information
  • preferred suppliers
  • travel policies
  • live web browsing
  • approved travel websites
  • travel package cards
  • destination photo albums
  • appointment booking

A visitor could ask:

What is the weather usually like in Lisbon in October?

The AI can answer using public information.

Then:

Can you show me your Lisbon packages?

The AI can display configured package cards.

Then:

I'd like to speak with someone about the second option.

The flow can continue to booking, another node, or Human Handoff depending on how the agent is designed.

03

Example: an insurance quote conversation

AI Answer can also support structured interactions without turning the entire conversation into a rigid form.

The node could:

  • explain the insurance product
  • answer general questions
  • collect the variables needed for a quote
  • use the Calculate skill
  • present the calculated result
  • book a consultation
  • email configured material

The conversational experience remains natural while the business controls the calculation logic and available actions.

When to use AI Answer

Use AI Answer when the agent needs flexible conversational intelligence.

It is especially useful when the agent should:

  • answer general questions
  • work from customer-provided instructions
  • use a large body of directly supplied knowledge
  • browse current public information
  • use only approved websites
  • maintain a defined role or communication style
  • schedule meetings
  • send emails
  • perform configured calculations
  • show products, services, or other structured offerings
  • display photos or albums
  • combine several of these capabilities in one place

For many simple and medium-complexity agents, AI Answer can be the main node after Start.

When another node may be better

AI Answer is powerful, but not every job should be handled inside one node.

Use Document Search when dedicated documents need to be searched and retrieved from.

Use Data Search when the answer depends on exact structured records in CSV or Excel data.

Use AI Form when the agent needs a controlled sequence of questions and structured field collection.

Use Router when different customer intents should be sent to different paths.

Use Human Handoff when a person needs to take over the conversation.

These nodes can be combined with AI Answer when the workflow requires more structure.

Keep the configuration aligned with the job

AI Answer can do many things, but an effective configuration does not need every available skill.

Start with the job the node needs to perform.

Then decide:

  • What should the AI know?
  • What instructions should it follow?
  • Should it use the live web?
  • Should web browsing be restricted?
  • Which actions should it be allowed to take?
  • Which information should stay controlled?
  • Which skills are actually useful for this conversation?

A focused AI Answer node is easier to manage and easier to test.

AI Answer as the core of a simple agent

Not every AI agent needs a complex flow.

In many cases, the simplest useful AskHandle setup is:

Start → AI Answer

The Start node begins the conversation.

AI Answer handles the interaction, uses the configured knowledge and instructions, accesses live information when allowed, and activates the skills needed to complete the customer's request.

As the use case becomes more complex, additional nodes can be introduced for routing, document retrieval, structured data, forms, or human escalation.

This makes AI Answer both a powerful standalone building block and a central part of more advanced AskHandle agents.

Build the AI around the job

AI Answer gives customers control over both the intelligence and the actions available inside a conversation.

Use it with the default web-enabled behavior, define a custom role and knowledge base, restrict its information sources, enable the skills your business needs, or combine it with other AskHandle nodes.

The configuration can stay simple or become highly specialized depending on the agent you want to build.
